Congratulations Deacon John Paul

The moment Baltimore Archbishop William Lori lay his hands upon Deacon John during the Ordination Mass, held at Baltimore’s Cathedral of Mary our Queen.

On Saturday, May 25, 2019, several of our friars attended the Diaconate Ordination of the fourteen new Permanent Deacons for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. One of the newly ordained, John Paul Micciche, is a graduate of our own Archbishop Curley High School and a parishioner from our pastoral ministry of St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Church, in the Rosedale community of Baltimore. He will now serve as a deacon within the “Pastorate” that includes St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Church, the Church of the Annunciation, and St. Michael the Archangel Church. Many years ago, before he embraced the committed vocation of husband and father, Deacon John was in discernment to be a member of our Franciscan Friars Conventual Community. There were ten friars in attendance at the ordination: Friar George, Friar John, Friar Tim, Fr. Vincent Gluc, OFM Conv. (parochial vicar at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church – Jonesboro, GA), Fr. Donald Grzymski, OFM Conv. (president of Archbishop Curley High School), Fr Dennis Grumsey, OFM Conv. (pastor of the Baltimore pastorate including St. Casimir Church & St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church), Fr. Michael Heine, OFM Conv. (vicar provincial for our province), and Fr. Christopher Dudek, OFM Conv. (instructor and campus minister at Archbishop Curley).
