A visit to the Niepokalanów Friary founded in 1927 by St. Maximilian Kolbe is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th

Included among many events that Our Lady of the Angels Province Friars have been planning in celebration the 100th Anniversary of the October 16, 1917 founding of the Militia Immaculata (MI) by St. Maximilian M. Kolbe, OFM Conv., as well as the 35th Anniversary of his Canonization on October 10, 1982, is an 11 day pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi, Warsaw, Niepokalanów, Częstochowa, Auschwitz, Wadowice, Kraków, Łagiewniki, and Wieliczka.
Leading this August 2017 pilgrimage will be our Province MI Assistant and Professor of Canon Law at St. Paul University in Ottawa ~ Fr. Jobe Abbass, OFM Conv. (Pilgrimage Director), the Pastor The Franciscan Church at St. Bonaventure, in Toronto ~ Fr. David Stachurski, OFM Conv. (Pilgrimage Liturgist) and our Minister Provincial, the Very Reverend Fr. James McCurry, OFM Conv. (Pilgrimage Spiritual Guide).

August 10th includes many stops in Assisi, including a visit to The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, home of the Portiuncula

On August 16th, visit the magnificent chapels, religious sculptures carved in salt, and unique views of the Wieliczka Salt Mines (Kopalnia soli Wieliczka)

Visit the Minor Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 14th, the parish church of Karol Józef Wojtyła (Pope Saint John Paul II). It was here that he was Baptized, received First Communion and served as an altar boy.
