Franciscan Pilgrims venerate mortal remains of St. Francis

From March 2-7, 2026, Our Lady of the Angels Province’s Marian Apostolate sponsored a Marian/Franciscan pilgrimage to Rome and Assisi.
Pilgrims visited Casa Kolbe, where St. Maximilian was a seminarian and founded the Militia of the Immaculate, the Vatican where, after the papal audience, they celebrated Mass in St. Peter’s Grotto Chapel of Our Lady of Czestochowa, the Papal Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi where the friars and pilgrims were among the thousands to venerate the mortal remains of St. Francis and at the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Assisi. We prayed at the tomb of St. Carlo Acutis and celebrated Mass. The pilgrimage was led by Friars James McCurry, Jobe Abbass and John Voytek, pictured venerating the bones of St. Francis.
The other photo taken in the courtyard of the lower basilica shows the group of pilgrims who together with our Friars Tim Dore and Fabio Soares who are ministering at the Basilica of St. Francis.
