The Peace Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace!
      Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
      Where there is injury, pardon;
      Where there is doubt, faith;
      Where there is despair, hope;
      Where there is darkness, light;
      Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
     Grant that I may not so much seek
     To be consoled, as to console;
     To be understood, as to understand;
     To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
     It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

May the Lord bless you and keep you;

A Prayer Inspired by the “Our Father”
O Our Father most holy:
Our Creator, Redeemer, Consoler, and Savior:
Who are in heaven:
In the angels and the saints,
enlightening them to know, for You, Lord, are light;
inflaming them to love, for You, Lord, are love;
dwelling in them and filling them with happiness,
for You, Lord, are Supreme Good, the Eternal Good,
without Whom there is no good.
Holy be Your Name:
May knowledge of You become clearer in us that we may know
the breadth of Your blessings,
the length of Your promises,
the height of Your majesty,
the depth of Your judgements.
Your kingdom come:
That You may rule in us through Your grace and enable us to come to our kingdom

Prayer for Missionaries
O Lord, through the intercession of our brothers, St. Bernard and his companions, protomartyrs of our seraphic Order, remember your missionaries who give up all they have to testify to your gospel and love. Strengthen them in moments of difficulty. Through their endeavors, may your blessed Name be made known throughout the world. Surrounded by an ever-growing number of your children, may they raise to you the hymn of thankfulness, redemption, and glory.

St. Clare Prayer
Clare, virgin holy to God, we honor you, the chosen spouse of Christ. As guide and model to the sisters, guide us as we seek to attain heavenly holiness.
V.  Pray for us, holy mother Clare.
R.  Help us become worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
Merciful God, Who inspired holy mother Clare with a fervent love of gospel poverty, through her intercession grant that we, too, might follow the poor and humble Christ in order to rejoice in seeing You in the perfect joy of Your kingdom.

St. Joseph of Cupertino Prayer for Students
O humble St. Joseph of Cupertino, singularly favored by God in the difficulties of study and the worries of examinations, implore the Holy Spirit to enlighten my mind and aid my memory in the search of His truth and wisdom. Help me especially in the decisive moments of examination, protecting me from the forgetfulness and disturbing anxiety that often accompany them, so that I may grow in the knowledge, love and service of God from Whom flows that wisdom which leads to eternal life.

St. Maximilian Kolbe Prayer
Amidst hate and imprisonment, you brought love into the lives of fellow captives and sowed the seeds of hope amidst despair. You bore witness to the whole world by word and deed that “Love alone creates.”

R. Help us become worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, You inflamed St. Maximilian the friar and priest with love for the Immaculate Virgin and filled him with zeal for souls and love of neighbor. The Praises of God

St. Francis composed “The Praises of God” on Mount La Verna, September 1224, when he received the stigmata. Written on a parchment which is signed and also contains a blessing from St. Francis to brother Leo, it is conserved as a relic in the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi.

Prayer is one of the most important aspects of a friar’s life. This prayer takes many forms including responding to the specific needs of those who ask to be remembered in our prayers. As we gather daily for our community celebration of the Eucharist and the recitation of the Divine Office, we would be happy to include your intention to our petitions. The Companions of St. Anthony is a ministry of Our Lady of the Angels Province. They consist of the friars and their friends, who share a common bond inspired by the life and values of St. Anthony of Padua. Together we give glory to God through living the values which were so dear to St. Anthony: Love for the Eucharist; knowledge of Scripture; reconciliation and penance as part of the Christian journey; prayer; devotion to Mary, the Mother of God; and opportunities for Christian giving.
