From the Vocation Director’s Desk

On Sunday, February 12, 2017, the Our Lady of the Angels Province Admissions Advisory Board met with me as I presented three candidates for Postulancy, which will begin on July 1st, 2017. The board then recommended they be accept into the program, and our Minister Provincial agreed.  This is wonderful news.  There are a few other applicants who are still in the “active phase” of application. God is blessing us with interested men for our way of life.

In two weeks (March 3-5, 2017), we will hold another “Come and See” weekend.  Those who participate have been in contact with the Vocation office and would like to learn more about our lives as Franciscan Friars Conventual.  We will have nine participants for this March experience and we ask that they be kept in your prayers as they travel on the own paths of discernment.  Some of these men may wish to enter this year’s Postulancy Class along with the three men who have already been accepted.

Embracing Love: A Vocation Prayer

This week past week, the Vocation Directors of our four North American Provinces, along with Fr. Jim Kent, OFM Conv. (Minister Provincial of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation & the Provincial Liaison for the CFF), met in Brooklyn, NY for our bi-annual meeting.  All five present concur that most of the men who come to us are coming because they have had an initial contact with one or more of our friars throughout the provinces who bear good witness to our life.

May God bless you all with Peace and All Good things!
