‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)

This October, Our Lady of the Angels Province friar and pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish (Coal Township, PA) & St. Patrick Parish (Trevorton, Pa), Fr. Steven Frenier, OFM Conv., received clearance to be a volunteer priest ministering at the State Correctional Institution–Coal Township Prison.  He will collaborate with Catholic Chaplain – Sister Susan Born, IHM, in preparing prayer services and spiritual talks for the benefit of the prisoners.  He will also be available to hear confessions for the prisoners in the general population as well as the high security and isolation wards.  Additionally, He will be available to cover for the priest who is assigned to say weekly Mass on Wednesday nights.  The Superintendent of the prison is grateful for Friar Steve’s willingness to be of service as a volunteer priest.
