July 12, 2018: Friars from our Four Franciscan Friars Conventual Provinces of North America (Province of Our Lady of Consolation, Province of St. Joseph Cupertino, Province of St. Bonaventure and our own Our Lady of the Angels Province) gathered at the Interprovincial St. Francis of Assisi Friary Novitiate (Arroyo Grande, California) to celebrate the 2018 Investiture of the new class of five new Novices and to Send Forth five graduating Novices onto their continuing studies. Our Minister Provincial, the Very Reverend Fr. James McCurry, OFM Conv. presided and preached at the Mass of celebration. The chapel was full as we vested the new novices in the habit of our Order, including three of our province. Our province welcomes and congratulates our newest Novices: friar Antonio Moualeu, OFM Conv., friar Raad Eshoo, OFM Conv. and friar Joseph Krondon, OFM Conv.
As these new friars have not professed their vows, you will notice their habits’ cords around their waists are not yet knotted. Upon their Simple Profession of Vows their cords will hold three knots, symbolizing the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. On July 16th, just few days after this Investiture and Sending Ceremony, friar Richard Rome, OFM Conv., friar Alejandro Maria Arìas Mosquera, OFM Conv. and friar Fabian Adderley, OFM Conv. professed those vows during the Jubilee Mass for all of the friars of our province celebrating milestone years of Profession or Ordination, at our Shrine of St. Anthony (Ellicott City, MD).
